The NITRD NCO, on behalf of an interagency working group on information integrity R&D, requested public input (Federal Register Notice 87 FR 15274) on a range of questions pertaining to prospective Federal priorities for R&D efforts to address misinformation and disinformation. The purpose of the RFI was to seek input on ways in which the Federal Government might enable research and development activities to advance the trustworthiness of information, mitigate the effects of information manipulation, and foster an environment of trust and resilience in which individuals can be discerning consumers of information.
